George R. Drechsler, 89, of Stephens City, VA died August 7, 2017. Born October 16, 1927 and grew up in Washington, DC. George was a member of the Elks Lodge and played the clarinet with the Elks Boys Band. George met his wife Carolyn, who was a majorette with the Elks Boys Band and they were happily married for 63 years. He ran a printing press for the Government until he retired. George R. Drechsler, 89, of Stephens City, VA died August 7, 2017. Born October 16, 1927 and grew up in Washington, DC. George was a member of the Elks Lodge and played the clarinet with the Elks Boys Band. George met his wife Carolyn, who was a majorette with the Elks Boys Band and they were happily married for 63 years. He ran a printing press for the Government until he retired. George was an avid bowler and loved to take road trips. George was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Anna Drechsler; brothers Albert, Carl, Jr., Thomas, Jerry, and sisters Elsie and Mary Louise; his wife Carolyn, son George and daughter Cynthia. George is survived by his two children: Diane Drechsler Pingley and her husband Charles of Front Royal, VA, and Robert Drechsler and his wife Pamela of Centreville, VA; 8 grandchildren Neil, Elaine, Julia, Walter, Wesley, William, Todd and Megan along with 4 great grandchildren Alyssa, Aiden, Brooke, and Caitlyn. He is also survived by his brothers Robert, Richard and his wife Barbara and sister Jane Ellen. He was beloved by his family and many friends who will miss him dearly. Family will receive friends and relatives at 11:45 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at National Funeral Home, located at 7482 Lee Highway in Falls Church, VA. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon with Interment immediately following the memorial service. Arrangements are being provided by the National Funeral Home.
